Piedmont Room Reception—Saturday February 16th, 2013

Noeleen & Art are such a FUN, down-to-earth couple and it was a true pleasure to work with them and their families. While Noeleen may have spent lots of time before the Big Day perfecting the details of her gorgeous muted peach & navy decor, she certainly wasn’t sweating the details on the wedding day. She walked in from the ceremony wearing her Ugg boots! (and why not, they’re hidden under those gorgeous layers of tulle!)

After their mid-afternoon ceremony at Our Lady of Assumption, the newlyweds headed our way for some park photos before the reception started. While some couples are fearful of having a ‘break’ between their church wedding and evening reception, it definitely has its benefits! Noeleen and Art were able to get all of their photos out of the way and relax with a cocktail before the first guest arrived. They mingled with their guests during the cocktail reception, allowing them to soak up every single moment of the night.

Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Benoit!

Special thanks to their fab team of vendors:

Congratulations to this adorable couple who tied the knot in the Piedmont Room this summer! With all of the spectacular details, you would never know this couple planned their wedding in only a few short months. We love how the couple included their daughter every step of the way and made the wedding a true family affair. After the ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail-style reception with Mediterranean cuisine and plenty of dancing. Thank you to Jess Fouts for capturing and sharing these photos with us!

Hitched! Kendra & Patrick

September 19, 2013 — Leave a comment

Kendra & Patrick were married underneath the willows on Saturday June 15th. The weather was SO gorgeous–blue skies and sunny and not too hot for a summer day! We love Kendra’s classic lace gown and her lush bouquets. Kendra chose a palette of navy & ivory which worked beautifully with the colors in the Meadow and surrounding the Garden Tent. The uber-talented Jessica Horwitz captured some AH-mazing images and was kind enough to share some of her beauties with us!

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Robson!

We’re beyond thrilled that one of our adorable couples is featured in the newest edition of Southern Living Weddings! Natalie and Ed’s June nuptials featured BRIGHT pops of magenta & orange, making for a super fun and vibrant reception setting.

How adorable are these newlyweds?!

Seriously obsessed with her veil. And bouquet!

Eliana with Elly B Events produced all of the gorgeous bouquets, centerpieces, and decor. She incorporated colored Chinese lanterns for great pops of bright colors above the tablescapes.

Thank you to Jennifer Sosa Photography for sharing these gorgeous photos and to the Elly B Events team for decorating coordinating such a fabulous fete! XXOO Lauren & Ryan

Hitched! Valerie & Chris, November 3rd, 2013

Valerie and Chris were married underneath the willows in early November. The gorgeous couple lucked out with equally gorgeous weather for their big day. Alecia Lauren captured the day perfectly and we couldn’t be more excited to share these photos!

Valerie decided to play up all of the rich, vibrant colors that nature provides us in the fall season. And while we love the beautiful and elegant pastels we see so often during the spring and summer, it was refreshing to the Garden Tent bursting with this type of color.

A huge thank you to Alecia Lauren for sharing these photos with us!

Hitched! Falon and Jamie

September 12, 2012 — Leave a comment

I had such an awesome time working with this couple!! When I first met Jamie and Falon, they were feeling a bit stressed trying to find a venue that would match their personalities and accommodate their 300-person guest list. After a couple of meetings to discuss the logistics, they decided on something a bit different: they were going to rent BOTH of our venues! Falon had final say in their wedding date and chose Friday June 15th because it is her parents’ anniversary (tear!).

After their heartfelt ceremony in the Piedmont Room, guests were escorted on a short walk outside into the Garden Tent for cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Jamie & Falon took some pictures with their family & bridal party and then joined their guests under the Tent for a night full of heartfelt toasts, great dancing, and hopefully many awesome memories!

Before we get caught up in the photos, let me just say—does Falon not look ba-na-nas in her dress!? This girl was born to be a bride!

And as if being perfectly photogenic weren’t enough, this couple is absolutely one of the most ‘real’, down-to-earth and truly sweet couples

I’ve had the chance to work with. They were much in tune with what their wedding day meant to each other and to their family & friends, and were so excited to have those people surrounding them that day. Here’s a little back story from Falon about how she & Jamie met:

We met at church when were 11 and 12 years old. He started to have feelings for me but I had no idea what I really wanted. We were really good friends throughout high school and college, even though he went to school in Australia and I was in Tennessee. When we both moved back to Georgia our friendship was just as strong as ever. We continued to be really close over the next few years and it gradually grew into something so much more than just a friendship. We had fallen in love with our best friends! :)

On July 24, 2011, I had just gotten back from a friend’s wedding in Virginia and he had a limo pick us up and take us to dinner. After dinner, the limo took us back to my house and his family had decorated the house with flowers, candles and left beautiful music playing. In the middle of it all he had a rose for our past, a rose for our present and a ring for our future and he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!

Congratulations you guys! We hope you’ll come visit out on the pati0 soon.

Special thanks to the very talented Angela Wilson Photography team.

XO, Lauren

Christine and Matt tied the knot on June 2nd with a truly gorgeous and unique wedding. Christine is officially THE craftiest, most creative person I have ever met! I don’t even want to know how many hours she logged working on the various DIY projects for her wedding (but I would LOVE to be invited to see her craft room one day!)

Her hard work definitely paid off on the wedding day. The Tent was completely transformed into Christine’s very specific vision: old-school romance meets shabby-chic charm. Christine must have spent numerous weekends scouring antique stores and flea markets collecting items to complete her tablescapes. Distressed wooden frames, milk glass, and pastel colored bottles paired perfectly with her spring colored florals.

The bride thought out every. single. detail. to make the day special including a few more personal touches:
–Handmade programs with vintage hankies for guests’ ‘Happy Tears’
–Collection of vintage cake plates & platters for her dessert display
–DIY pastel pink fabric banner background for the dessert table
–Tiny fabric bags of lavender buds to ‘Shower the Love Birds’ as they departed for the honeymoon

Amazing, right?! Christine definitely has a great eye for design.

Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Matt Ausman! Best wishes to you!

Always a wedding planner, never a bride…….until now! After helping literally hundreds of brides with their planning, it was finally my turn to walk down the aisle on January 28th! Charles and I have known each other since our freshmen year of college so needless to say this day came with much anticipation. Fortunately, I have been blessed to work with some incredible industry professionals over the years and had a pretty good vision for what I wanted the day to look like. I knew I wanted a winter wedding, a band, and a reception that resembled a club or lounge more than a wedding….

First, a couple of pics from getting ready and the ceremony. We all got ready at the W Hotel Midtown and then headed to the church. The ceremony was held at Sardis United Methodist Church in Buckhead. Charles’ childhood pastor performed the ceremony and added many special, personal touches to the sermon.

A lot of people asked me why I chose January for the wedding.  Well, in the wedding industry, the busiest time of year is April-December. With that said, it was pretty easy for me to decide on winter for my own nuptials. There was NO way I could have pulled off my own wedding in the midst of the busiest time of my work season!

And now for some shots which prove that you can still get great outdoor photos in the winter. And in the dark!

After doing a few photos in the Park, we headed in to get introduced and do our First Dance. Charles and I chose “Brown Eyed Girl” for our First Dance and about three days before the wedding, realized that we had no plan for what we were going to do once we got onto the dance floor. Since we had pretty much run out of time, we decided we’d just have to wing it. It worked out pretty well and I quickly realized that even if you look like a fool, no one judges you because it’s your day. Once the dance was over we could relax and enjoy some highly anticipated cocktails!

The other question I got a lot was about the room layout & menu. From the start, I knew I wanted a reception that had cocktail seating with a mix of different tables as well as some residential-style pieces. I emphasized to my florist and planner that while I wanted a formal look, I wanted to steer away from the classic ‘bridal’ look. Not because I don’t love that look, but because I am around weddings every day and wanted something a bit different on my own special day. I built a menu that was easy for guests to enjoy while mingling: Shrimp & Grits Martinis, a Build-Your-Own Hash Browns Bar, and a Chef-Attended Sushi Bar. Around 10pm, we opened up the Mini Burger Bar serving up tiny versions of Park Tavern’s Five Star Burger.

Here are a few detail & party shots:

At the end of the night, we exited into a flurry of faux snow {don’t fret, it’s eco-friendly!} and jumped onto the trolley with our friends and family. All in all it was an absolutely incredible day and I loved every single second.  When you get engaged, your mom, grandmother, aunt, and neighbor all tell you to ‘relax’, ‘soak it in’, ‘the day will fly by’. Well now that I’ve lived it, I can offer my own advice: Listen to them!!!!  The day really did fly by in an instant and I wish I could be lucky enough to do it again (same guy, of course!).

Of course, I owe a huge debt of gratitude to everyone who made the day perfect for me. Because of them, I was able to relax and enjoy the day for what it was.

Y’all may know that we’re devoted Style Me Pretty followers around here. So we were thrilled when we found out we were going to be featured again. Anna and Joseph celebrated their wedding with family and friends on the afternoon of October 8th. It was an absolutely gorgeous day–crisp, a tiny bit breezy, and that pretty fall sunlight you see only when the seasons are changing.

I’ve always been a huge fan of afternoon weddings and don’t understand why they aren’t more popular. After all, getting married early in the day gives you more time to celebrate with all of your loved ones. That’s exactly what Anna & Joseph did–they were definitely a party crowd!!

Aragon Photography captured these beautiful shots from the wedding day. Artworks Wedding Cinema was also there to capture the day on video. Take a look at this awesome TRAILER!

Check out the full feature here!

Special thanks to the folks at Aragon and Artworks for capturing the day. Best wishes to our newlyweds!

Happy Hearts Day!

It’s Valentine’s Day….
Some people love it. Some hate it. I’ve never been particularly a huge fan of the holiday BUT I do love any excuse to indulge myself in chocolates, pink drinks, pretty dresses and flowers. Chocolate cupcakes with pink icing and sprinkles make for a great breakfast in my book.
In the spirit of the holiday and to indulge ourselves in some good old-fashioned prettiness, here is some eye candy for the day.
First, a few soft, romantic goodies:

And now some super bold pretties from a featured wedding over at Southern Weddings:
I am loving the red trim on the tent and these red lamp shades!
XO and Happy Valentine’s Day!
